This week’s pitha drop
Six pitha, cooked fresh by our partner kitchens on Thursday and delivered Friday with your vegetables. Each one needs a minimum number of orders before it is made — when the count is reached, it is on.
Patishapta
Thin rice crêpe rolled around coconut and date jaggery.
Bhapa pitha
Steamed rice flour cake with a molten jaggery centre.
Chitoi pitha
Soft griddled rice cakes. Best with date syrup or a hot curry.
Puli pitha
Crescent dumplings filled with toasted coconut and jaggery.
Narkel naru
Hand-rolled coconut and jaggery sweets.
Malpua
Fried batter discs soaked in cardamom syrup.
How the drop works
Fresh means a deadline. Here is the week.
Menu goes up
Six pitha published for the following Friday. Counts start at zero.
Orders close
Anything that has reached its number is confirmed. Anything short is refunded that evening.
Cooked
Made fresh, chilled, labelled with allergens and collected the same evening.
Delivered
In the same box as your vegetables. Best the day it arrives, keeps two days chilled.
